Looking at Lookman
2 min read
Tottenham continue to monitor the situation of young Charlton Athletic striker Ademola Lookman. While the press are talking about January moves his manager, Karel Fraeye, has made it clear he is not leaving before the season is out.
Various reports say Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Southampton are all chasing him which basically mans they are sending scouts to watch him play. At the moment, he has hamstring problems and his game time is having to be managed carefully by his boss.
It is early days as the 18-year-old (19 next October) only made his debut last month. He got off to a good start scoring three goals in seven games and discussions have begun to extend his contract which at the moment runs until 2017.
it is not just first-team strikers Spurs are interested in, we are looking at the next generations to feed into the growing conveyor belt of talent and of course, we have the carrot of successful young players getting chances to stake their claim for a regular place. That is a pull manchester City can't provide and gives us a chance at signing the best young talent around.
