Spurs favourites to sign Olympiacos attacking midfielder Fortounis

Tottenham have been busy scouting and one player we have taken a strong interest in is 23-year-old (24 next October) Olympiacos central attacking midfielder Kostas Fortounis.

According to reports, we were on of several English clubs at their UEFA Champions League tie on Wednesday against Dinamo Zagreb. The Greek press are saying we have expressed the greatest interest in him but have yet to make a formal offer.

This season in the Greek Super League he has scored 7 goals and had 5 assists in just 9 games, a total of 582 minutes. He has had a hand in a goal every 48.5 minutes and scored every 83.14 minutes.

In all competitions he has appeared in 13 games, scored 7 goals and had 8 assists. We watched him lay for Greece during the last international break, have been present at his Champions League games and Greek Super League games.

Italian giants Juventus want to take him on loan in January with a purchase option in the summer and their Director General and Sports Department CEO Giuseppe "Beppe" Marotta, has tabled a loan offer. He is also being watched by Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen and Ajax. Olympiacos are said to be only interested in a straight cash sale if they can't keep hold of him and think we are the most likely to make it.
