Naming stands at the new White Hart Lane

Harry 1990 at Skyscraper City makes an interesting point and has an idea that would remind us of our history and the greats from the past. Why have a North Stand that says nothing when you could have a Pat Jennings stand or a Jimmy Greaves stand?

1- Name every block of seating after a ex player/manager of the club and poll all members for their choices, the Emirates has 134 regular blocks of seating so I am guessing NWHL will have 135/136 ish although thinking about it will the Kop stand technically count as one huge 17,000 block of seating?

To have 130-odd players remembers with their own block or section, then more remembered with their own rooms, with history from that player within their room keeps us linked to our past and provokes memories. Why call something an upper tier when it can be the Steve Archibald Upper Tier.

We live in a commercial world and commercial income is the lifeblood of every club. TV money can take you only so far, especially when everyone else in your league is getting the same or more than you. Players will still prefer to go to Italy and Spain or Germany because of less competition for trophies and UEFA Champions League places, it isn't just a case of we have more money therefore they come to us.

Money helps of course so should we be maximising it by having the Pat Jennings AIA stand for instance? Naturally we don't want to detract too much from the star when is why short letter abbreviations like NEC or JVC or perhaps BA (British Airways) would be better than a long winded name.

Who do you associate with the away end though, Sicknote? Joking aside it sound like a great idea to me, I haven't though about the practicalities, although it does spring to mind that it would be great for students on a customer service course to direct people to various parts of the ground and show them where things are on a stadium map or how to use an interactive map device if we are having such things. Politeness, communication and presentation skills, dealing with people from all walks of life, different nationalities, it would certainly help their problem solving and thinking on their feet skills thereby boosting confidence.

Back to the ground though there do seem to be plenty of positives to the idea.
