He shouldn't have signed a contract

Adrien Rabiot made a big mistake when he signed a new contract at French champions PSG, he went for the short term gain of a pay increase which also slapped a big price on his head.

His mother  Veronique is his agent and she was demanding a transfer because he wasn't getting any game time, she was refusing to agree to sign a new contract so manager Laurent Blanc refused to pick him for any first team squad and told her he will remain with the second team if he didn't sign.

When she caved in she had inserted a clause that allowed him to go on loan in January, however PSG reneged on that deal and refused to let him leave on loan by only contemplating an offer on the final day. As we were the side he had arranged to join we had therefore lost a month of his services. It would have taken him well into February to adjust t our style and we would have got little use out of him.

Despite the false assurances by PSG that he would figure and get game time he has started just one game and once again he wants out. This time however PSG say they want  a considerable offer report L'Equipe, which has been translated as being £21-million by reporters. Had he not signed and left on a free he could have demanded a higher wage, all he has done since he signed is waste a year of his career.
"Adrien loves and is attached to PSG, it is the club of his heart. He wants to have a career here, but it's not possible.
"Are PSG trying to tarnish Adrien because we have asked for a transfer? If Adrien leaves PSG, he is not leaving for the sake of leaving, he is leaving in order to play."
Given he is at PSG Rabiot would a prefer a club with a similar prestige, whether any are willing to make a considerable offer we'll have to wait and see. His priority is to play football and going to a similar size club puts that in doubt.

We have positioned ourselves as a club who plays youth, we need to also position ourselves as world leaders in getting the best out of youth. That involves working on them mentally and finding their true motivation. You then link that to training and games so the player is working towards a goal to achieve what motivates him to perform and improve to his optimum.
