Barkley not joining until January at the earliest

TRANSFER TALK

Questions will no doubt be asked why Moussa Sissoko is seemingly staying at Tottenham, the answer is pretty simple, Ross Barkley is out until at least December after having surgery to repair a torn hamstring.

I refered to injuries in a previous article and pointed out the length of time Walker, Rose and Lamela were out with injuries and that we couldn't be sure when Barkley would be back, which casts a doubt over any transfer.

Barkley out until December, do Everton sell him now and cut their losses?

If we were to buy him now, we would still need cover while he recovers and we would be paying his wages thus reducing the capacity to bring in other players. Why not just leave Everton with the bill, which is exactly what we will do.

We can go back for him in January, he will be cheaper in January and we may even agree with him to wait until next summer when he is a free agent. He will want to be playing to try and force his way into the England squad for the World Cup, he and we will have to look at the situation again in December.

We will have to look at getting rid of Sissoko then, as now he is required for cover. Those who abused me for suggesting it was Pochettino that was refusing to let Sissoko leave can now see why.
