Galatasaray look to Llorente instead of Soldado

It has been heavily covered that Turkish side Galatasaray are interested in buying Roberto Soldado with suggestions in many quarters that a deal is close.

It isn't really any closer than it was. We want £11 million (US$17.37m - AUS$22.46m - €15.42m), they want to pay £9 million (US$14.21m - AUS$18.38m - €12.62m), seems like a deal is just a matter of meeting in the middle. If however I am reading the situation correctly from the reports in Turkey, £9 million is their top offer, they don't feel he is worth any more in his current form.

There are of course other targets and Juventus striker Fernando Llorente is another goalscorer on their shopping list. He scored more goals than Soldado last season yet is available at a cheaper price.

Tottenham offered £6.49 million (US$10.04m - AUS$13.08m - €9m) for Spaniard Llorente but Juventus are reported to want £10.62 million (US$16.74m - AUS$21.79m - €15m).

Both have scored plenty of goals in their time, both are 30 and while it isn't confirmed until Llorente holds talks with Juventus after his honeymoon, both are available. Juventus have five strikers on their books now, plus Tevez who wants to return to Boca Juniors.

There is little difference in the fees but one is totally shot of confidence in front of goal and one is not, which would you buy? Of course it hasn't been confirmed that either has any interest in going to Turkey, both would probably favour a move to Spain and a possible destination would be Valencia.

They are known to be keen to reunite with Soldado and Jorge Mendes is helping owner Peter Lim build a squad, they have already spent £30.31 million (US$47.81m - AUS$61.94m - €41.5m) and were cash strapped last year.
