Shots generally correlate to goals and therefore winning games and league position. So is this true at this stage of the season. Let's have a look at the stats over at fellow blogger Football in the Clouds. You can get the full stats if you pop over there.

What do we find? Well, only three sides have had over 400 shots in the Premier League so far this season.

Premier League Shots For 2017/18

  1. Liverpool - 409
  2. Manchester City - 407
  3. Tottenham Hotspur - 405
  4. Arsenal - 393
  5. Chelsea - 379
  6. Manchester United - 335

  1. Manchester City - 15.2%

  3. Liverpool - 12.8%
  4. Tottenham Hotspur - 10.8%
  5. Chelsea - 10.1%
  6. Arsenal - 9.7%
I frequently talk about the fact we are still not clinical enough and to win trophies we have to convert more chances. These stats show us that we sit 4th in conversion stats, 4.4% behind Manchester City, 3% behind Manchester United and 2.5% behind Liverpool.

That tells me that the player surrounding Harry Kane and not scoring enough goals and yes I do appreciate his goals show that.
