Spurs top the league by 12 points

When I look at teamsheets I always count the number of English players in a side, to my mind there should be a minimum. We should be producing players for our national side in our own league.

For years we have only had about 37% of the players playing Premier League football available to play for England. Many fans couldn't care less what nationality players are but I detest clubs who play a complete team of imports. For me it is another reason to love Spurs, we are standing by this country and doing our bit.

There is no reason why English talent can not be produced to the same standard as overseas players who begin their senior careers earlier. It is simply a question of how you coach them and the competitiveness of the football they can play. The Premier League 2 is a world away from premier League football proper, we should revert back to second elevens or have B teams playing league football.

What would the table look like if only goals from English players counted, well, Tottenham would be top by a country mile, 12 points in fact.

We stand out amongst the top six as the only club that believes enough in English talent to play it. Liverpool would sit in 7th, Arsenal in 10th, Manchester United in 12th, Chelsea 13th and Manchester City 15th.
