Spurs want to snatch Chelsea youngster

Still in Holland and the Tottenham Hotspur scouting trips, as mentioned yesterday we had a scout at both legs of the Eredivisie UEFA Europa League play-off final between Vitesse and Heerenveen.

Not only were we there to watch 23-year-old German striker Mark Uth, who scored three goals over the two ties, provided an assist and still lost, but we were watching Chelsea loanee Bertrand Traoré.

Currently 19, the Burkina Faso international will be 20 on September 6th. He set up a goal in the first leg, scored for his country on Sunday and banged in 17 goals for Vitesse with 5 assists in 33 games..

The chances of snapping him up are slim as Jose Mourinho is said to rate him very highly with reports suggesting that Vitesse head coach Peter Bosz has said Mourinho wants to include Traoré in the first-team squad for some games next season. Mourinho in 2013 called him 'one of the best talents of his age' so selling him to Spurs looks unlikely.

Traoré spoke to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf and revealed he didn't know where he would be playing his football next season.

"Chelsea are very happy with my development. But I will only hear during my holidays which direction it will take. I'm ready when the opportunity comes. I'm not afraid to show it at Chelsea.
"It has been for me the first time I've played a full season in professional football. I'm physically a huge step forward."

With Traoré in attack Vitesse went on a 27 game unbeaten run, the 4 losses during that spell being in games Traoré missed either through suspension or international duty.

Tottenham also sent a scout to watch him play on Sunday 17 May in the home game against Utrecht which ended in a 3-3 draw, Traoré scored twice.
