Lloris has improved, Spurs have improved
You will all have read the quotes now from Mauricio Pochettino telling the press how happy Hugo Lloris is at Tottenham, something regular readers knew all about.
As a goalkeeper Hugo himself has mentioned that he is in the ideal place to see the team develop, he can see everything that is going on and he can see the improvements we are making.
As mentioned before he has found a kindred spirit in Pochettino Hugo Lloris has a winning mentality, he looks to improve his game all the time, something Pochettino has been instilling in the players. For some, like Dembele, that has meant learning to pass faster, dribble in different areas of the pitch, think more and play with more energy.
The players that are prepared to work are the ones playing, those with the wrong mentality have been left on the sidelines with a choice, either change or simply don't play. Slowly the majority have come round to his way of thinking but that won't save several from the chop in the summer.
Lloris is excited by the youngsters as he sees only improvement in them and in Spurs, which in turn will help him achieve his goal of playing in the UEFA Champions League. The paper talk of Real Madrid and the joke reports about Arsenal interest are not a concern. I have no doubt at all he'll be in goal next season and will then decide his future based on that season.
A trophy this season will be a bonus and there is no reason why a top four place can't be achieved as well. We have 15 games to make up 3 points so the next two fixtures are crucial, the North London Derby followed by a trip to Anfield. We must be looking to take 4 points at least from the two games, although obviously 6 would be lovely.
With Lloris between the sticks anything is possible.
