Spurs go back to Belgium for future stars

Spurs radar seeks far and wide for players and another player being watched is Adrien Bongiovanni, who being young, it is obligatory that he is referred to as a wonderkid, none of them ever are.

Spurs go back to Belgium for future starsWho is he? Well he is a 15-year-old Belgian attacking left-sided midfielder, although he is right-footed, at Standard Liege. He is being watched by Tottenham and of course Roma, as well as a host of other clubs including Chelsea and Inter Milan.

Bongiovanni's agent, Franco Lovino, told Sky Italia reporter Guglielmo Cannavale of Spurs interest.

“Adrien has interest from Spurs, but Tottenham isn't the only club, other English clubs want Bongiovanni, some Italian clubs too. He’s a very interesting player with brilliant future“.

Bongiovanni plays for the Belgium Under-15 side although he has Italian links. He is skilful with technical ability and is good in one-on-one situations. He has at times been played as an attacker, such is his proficiency in front of goal.

Not all players who stand out at this age make it and it's a numbers game but Tottenham are building the next generation of academy players to develop. They hope to add Bongiovanni to 17-year-old Nigerian prodigy Musa Yahaya, Australian goalkeeper Tommy Glover, 16 and 16-year-old former Anderlecht youngster Ismali Azzaoui.
