Spurs not interested in Cissokho

Someone somewhere has invented interest from Tottenham in Aston Villa left-back Aly Cissokho, presumably to try and generate some interest in him and bump up his price.

Spurs not interested in Cissokho

Spurs are not in the market for a left-back, having two youngsters at the moment vying for the one slot. Ben Davies was purchased in the summer and we had to give up Gylfi Sigurdsson to net the 21-year-old. He had to bide his time while 24-year-old Danny Rose showed himself to be the most improved player of the early season.

Pochettino won't be letting either go as both have shown they can perform the heavy duty role required of our full-backs. Within our system the full-backs are an attacking threat who provide width and that is equal in importance to their defensive duties. The days of a full-back sitting at the back defending are long gone.

There is no place in the squad for him, we don't need a left-back, we have our full quota of non-home grown players so have to sell some before we buy more and then we will want them in more important positions, like centre-forward and centre-back. In addition he doesn't fit our buying profile being 27-years-old already and 28 at the beginning of next season.

The story makes very little sense and wouldn't be good business for Spurs so appears to have nothing to it.
