Carragher gives Spurs fans more home truths

Former Liverpool and England centre-half Jamie Carragher has been giving Tottenham fans a few home truths just like Tim Sherwood did.

Carragher give Spurs fans more home truths

The bury your head in the sand brigade laughingly suggest what does Carragher or Sherwood know and then hurl abuse. Carragher has no axe to grind with Tottenham, there is no agenda, just as honest opinion as he sees it and as fans with their eyes open can see. He won the UEFA Champions League with Liverpool, something Spurs fans can only dream about.

Previously he has said that you can not see Soldado, Paulinho and Lamela turning round their Premier League careers and to be frank you can't. Soldado once again offered a ray of hope against Manchester City but isn't picked, while Lamela gave away two goals defensively, did nothing in attack against Man City or a weak Newcastle United team. Paulinho has made it abundantly clear he isn't even going to try.

Speaking on Sky Sports where he works as a pundit he now says he feels Jan Vertonghen is overrated and not worth his reputation.

“United and Arsenal need a centre-half and you’re thinking where are these centre-halves?”
“We look at the centre-halves who have come into this country in the last couple of years for £10m.
“Mangala is struggling, so is Lovren at Liverpool. Sakho the same.
“Vertonghen has a big reputation, unwarranted at times if I’m being honest. Spurs just keep conceding goals.
“On their performances this season, I would trust any of them.”

Manchester City paid £32 million for Mangala, Liverpool paid £22.26 million for Lovren and also £16.72 million for Mamadou Sakho.

Vlad Chiriches has been a walking disaster ever since he arrived, Younes Kaboul has only ever had one good season and continues his habit of making big mistakes in virtually every games, the only performance he didn't was against Arsenal, Vertonghen gave up last season, Fazio has yet to show why we have bought him and Eric Dier is young but currently playing right-back.

Spurs fans may not like what Carragher has to say but he's independent and simply being honest, can Tottenham fans take that honesty.
