Spurs need to improve first half performances

Spurs-need-to-improve-first-half-performances

The following table shows an area of improvement needed by Mauricio Pochettino's men. Of the top six, we sit sixth on half-time results.

It emphasises how slow we are out of the box in the first half and how much we give ourselves to do in the second half. Under Harry Redknapp and Andre Villas-Boas we appeared top be playing for 0-0 at half time, to not be losing rather than playing to win.

At the same time Liverpool, under Brendan Rogers, were flying out of the boxes, winning games in the first half and managing the situation after that. Improving our first half performance will make our second halves easier, less pressurised.

It is just one of the details a coach looks at. As I have written before, we must continually make little tiny improvements that add up to a big improvement. If each player made one tiny improvement each week the squad would have made 25 improvements, it is easy to see how they add up.
