A look at the Champions League tonight

Champions League Predictions

UEFA Champions League Week 2 Games

Sevilla CF vs Maribor
Spartak Moscow vs Liverpool
SSC Napoli vs Feyenoord Rotterdam
Manchester City vs Shakhtar Donetsk
Besiktas JK vs RB Leipzig
AS Monaco vs FC Porto
Bv09 Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid
APOEL Nicosia vs Tottenham Hotspur

Sevilla and Napoli look the home bankers of the games being played in the UEFA Champions League tonight. Manchester City have improved immensely after a season learning what Pep Guardiola wants and of Gabriel Jesus getting used to the Premier League. He came on as a substitute against us last season and looked a high quality player that would become a world star and thrive over here.

Liverpool are favourites to travel to Russia and get a result. Their opponents Spartak Moscow have been a mediocre team for the past decade and return to winning ways last season, which now sees them back in the UEFA Champions League, however, they have returned to being a mediocre team this season and that is good news for Jurgen Klopp.

Tottenham will be taking note of this game because 25-year-old (26 next January) Dutch winger Quincy Promes has scored 49 goals in 90 games since joining them in 2015. He is a player we have been linked with previously and is their leading scorer this season with 6 goals in 9 games.

Of the other games, we need to come back from Cyprus with three points and put ourselves in a strong position ahead of our next game away to Real Madrid. It is fingers crossed that Borussia Dortmund can do us a favour and play out a draw with Real Madrid. Or should we be hoping that the Germans lose their second game and hand us some breathing space?

Red Bull Leipzig are possibly an underestimated side and I can see them getting a result in Turkey with French champions Monaco may have to settle for a draw against Portuguese side Porto.
