They also report that Tottenham have made a formal approach to sign 21-year-old (22 in August) Hoffenheim right-back Jeremy Toljan with Serge Aurier having agreed terms with Manchester United, terms that no doubt blow us out of the water.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the German Under-21 international who helped his country win the European Championships this summer too. he has under a year left on his contract so he would be a cheaper option than the 20-year-old (21 next February) Bayer Leverkusen full-back Benjamin Henrichs, who is an alternative.

His representatives are said to be keen to discuss a move. The reported asking price for him is £17.89 million (€20m - AUS$29.43m - US$23.5m) while Toljan is probably available for under half that price.

German newspaper Bild report that Hoffenheim boss Julian Nagelsmann has played down speculation linking Jeremy Toljan  with a move away.

"If I want a player to go, I tell him this in the face and do not take him to the game like a little boy."
