Dembélé "You're nuts"

TRANSFER TALK

In 2013 new Barcelona striker Ousmane Dembélé (then just 16) replied to a joke Tweet that he had joined Barça, to earn €22m-a-year and wear the number 11 shirt. He replied: "You're nuts."

he has just joined the Spanish club in a massive £135.91 million (€147m - AUS$221.57m - US$175.39m) deal and will wear the number 11 shirt!

The stupidity of the current transfer fees is shown by the fact that Ousmane Dembélé has only played 86 professional football matches in his entire career. His £96.83 million (€105m - AUS$599m - US$124.70m) initial fee, therefore, makes him worth £1.13 million (€1.22m - AUS$1.84m - US$1.46m) per game!

Throw in his £38.83 million (€42m - AUS$63.31m - US$50.11m) and he is worth £1.58 million (€1.71m - AUS$2.58m - US$2.04m) per game.

He is right, people are nuts.

It does rather show how the elite clubs can simply blow everyone out of the water and why we must build Tottenham commercially to ba able to compete on a more level playing field than we are now. The latest accounts available showed our total turnover as just £210 million (€227.14m - AUS$342.35m - US$271m).

Neymar's transfer fee and wages comes to more than that!

Just to remind you of our rivals turnover and why we can't pay their wages:
Arsenal £354 million (€361.25m - AUS$544.51m - US$456.84m)
Chelsea £335 million (€362.34m - AUS$546.14m - US$432.32m)
Liverpool £302 million (€326.64m - AUS$492.345m - US$389.73m)
Manchester City £392 million (€423.99m - AUS$639.06m - US$505.88m)
Manchester United £515 million (€557.02m - AUS$839.58m - US$664.61m)

Those Top 5 all pay over £100 million (€108.16m - AUS$163.03m - US$129.05m) more in wages than we do thanks to their additional income. We are doing bloody well, considering this handicap, not that a section of our fans would have you believe that.
