Arsenal show Daniel Levy how to negotiate

TRANSFER TALK

Arsenal have shown Daniel Levy how to negotiate a transfer.

In July they were refusing to pay the £46.14 million (€50m - AUS$74.95m - US$59.44m) Monaco were demanding for the signature of 21-year-old (22 in November) French international winger (he has 5 full international caps) Thomas Lemar.

Now after weeks of, er, intense negotiations, on transfer deadline day, they have applied the pressure to the weak French negotiating team and have managed to double that figure and agree to a whopping £92.23 million (€100m - AUS$149.85m - US$118.76m) transfer fee.

Priceless. That is some piece of negotiating from the Goons.

It beggars belief, how do you justify that. he is vastly overrated and isn't worth anywhere near that amount, probably a third of it. He cost Monaco £3.6 million (€3.9m - AUS$5.85m - US$4.64m) in the summer of 2015, just 2 years ago.

In total he has 15 goals and 20 assists in 89 Ligue 1 games for Monaco and former club Caen. In his first season he hit 5 goals and had 3 assists in 26 league games, 5 goals and 5 assists in 34 games in total. Last season he had 9 goals and 11 assists in 34 league games, 14 goals and 17 assists in 55 games in total.

It seems now that if you have one good season, you shoot straight into the superstar bracket and can command stupid money, Anthony Martial, Kylian Mbappe.

You can't argue with the success of the Monaco negotiating team. They certainly saw Arsene Wenger coming didn't they.

Now for the wage negotiations!
