Spurs eyeing Real Madrid linked future star

TRANSFER TALK

Tottenham are said to be plotting a £15.61 million (€18m - AUS$26.74m - US$20.56m) bid for 20-year-old (21 next June) 2017 FIFA Under-20 World Cup breakout star Yeferson Soteldo.

The suggestion comes from Spanish publication Don Balon, who also report the highly-rated youngster has been linked with Real Madrid recently. Watford and Italian side Atalanta are also reported to hold an interest. The Spanish paper suggests Real Madrid want to leave him in South America for another season and assess him then. That gives us a chance to snap him up, he certainly looks a star of the future. Meridiano run a similar story.

Yeferson Julio Soteldo Martínez is a Venezuelan international (he has 4 full international caps) who plays as a midfielder for Chilean club Huachipato. he has played 16 games for the Venezuela Under-20 side scoring 3 goals and usually plays as a right winger, although he can play anywhere across the attacking three.

Yeferson Soteldo is a creative force, yet stands only five foot three inches tall. That raises question marks in the Premier League. It does allow him to be agile in small spaces and his technique is top drawer giving him superb close control at speed.

Being so young he is inconsistent at the moment which you would expect, that is something that can be worked upon and who better to work on it than Mauricio Pochettino who has changed the mentality of so many players at Spurs.
