Transfer Talk - Seri and the Cuadrado rubbish

TRANSFER TALK

Despite plenty of rumours and unofficial talks Tottenham have not made an official bid for 25-year-old (26 in July) Nice midfielder Jean Michaël Seri.

Why do so many people whinge when a player we are linked to appears to be signing for someone else. Do people not realise the press link us with player, the club doesn't or that a player may be good enough for another team but that Pochettino has decided they are not good enough for Spurs.

Ajax captain seems to be going to Everton, so what. Surely it simply means Ross Barkley is nearer the exit door and he wants to join Tottenham. Clubs like to get players in before they let players go.

The ever unreliable Sun newspaper have come up with a story that Tottenham and Arsenal are chasing 29-year-old (30 next May) former Chelsea player, not superstar as some claim, Juan Cuadrado. He has been on loan at Juventus and has just made the move permanent.

Arsenal are reported to have made a £17.6 million (€20.16m - AUS$29.84m - US$22.47m) with Juventus holding out for £30 million (€34.39m - AUS$50.53m - US$38.3m) it is claimed, a strange figure given the Iralians would be working in euros, sounds like more lazy reporting.

There is no evidence to suggest our involvement by the Sun, they merely say we are the competition, which is highly unlikely given our transfer strategy this window which is firmly cantered on youth. The Colombian international (he has 63 full international caps scoring 7 goals) winger is a winger, Spurs want wingers so we must be interested, that seems to be the Sun's logic.
