Italians choose PL team of the Season

Italian outlet TMW have produced their list of players who impressed this season in their various capacities. It is never easy to narrow down a whole league to an XI plus substitutes, but the Italians have had their go.

TMW Premier League Stars

GOALKEEPER:
To leave out Kasper Schmeichel, number one for the Premier League champions Leicester City is not easy, but even more difficult is not to bestow due recognition to the man who, at present, is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. We are referring to David De Gea, who continued at a high level even in this season, saving Manchester United on more than one occasion.

DEFENDERS
As for the defensive line, the choice fell on a trio that guarantees physicality, dependability, but also great continuity. We are talking about two of Leicester's players, Wes Morgan and Robert Huth (able to affect both area-goals), and Toby Alderweireld, whose growth surprised and who unquestionably settled the Tottenham Hotspur defence.

MIDFIELDERS
In a midfield quartet, we certainly could not miss one of the biggest revelations of the league Riyad Mahrez. He can guarantee elegance, unpredictability, and quality but also concrete: 17 goals and 10 assists over the season is clear evidence. Also with a starting spot in the Top 11 of the Premier is another of Ranieri proteges, N'Golo Kanté. He is a great conqueror of the ball, as well as being the motor of central midfield for the Foxes .

Completing the midfield department the talent of Tottenham youngster Dele Alli. He showed surprising maturity, dynamism, tactical intelligence and an ability to shift gears. Finally the force of the West Ham side under Bilic, Dimitri Payet. His play led the Hammers one step away from 'Europe.

FORWARDS:
An Argentine and two British are the protagonists of the most prolific offensive triumvirate of the Premier League. Of course, we talk about Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, and Jamie Vardy. The trio were responsible for scoring a total of 73 goals during the tournament. Of the first two we have become used to  them losing their markers continuously, the third has rather literally amazed everyone, contributing - with goals and performance - to the unexpected triumph of Leicester City.
