Barcelona watching Kane

Harry Kane has taken the Premier League by storm in the last two seasons and despite not scoring in the first 13 games he is currently the leagues top scorer with one game to go.

Barcelona watching Kane

That has not gone unnoticed around Europe and Barcelona have compiled a list of six strikers for the future. Spanish paper Sport list them as:

  • Anthony Martial - 20-year-old (21 in December) Frenchman Manchester United
  • Romelu Lukaku - 23-year-old (24 next May) Belgian Everton
  • Harry Kane - 22-year-old (23 in July) Englishman Tottenham Hotspur
  • Bréel Embolo - 19-year-old  (20 next February) Swiss Basel
  • Timo Werner 20-yera- old  (21 next March)German  Stuttgart
  • Mauro Icardi - 23-year-old (24 next February) Argentinian Inter Milan

We have been linked with all of those which shows we are scouting the best, even if sometimes they are out of our price range. Man U paying over £55 million (with add-ons included) for Anthony Martial is just crazy.

We'll have to wait and see if we go after Timo Werner again this window, undoubtedly we will be. It didn't take long for us to linked with Breel Embolo again, The Sun yesterday claimed Spurs and Liverpool are after him, a story then copied by The Star today.

The Sun story claims the clubs are lining up a  £20 million (25.4m EUR - US$28.72m) bid, however, Basel turned down ( £21.16 million (27m EUR - US$30.53m) from Wolfsburg in January and last summer figures of  £35 million (44.44m EUR - US$50.26m) were being thrown at the same story.

The powerful 19-year-old striker scored 13 goals and had 9 assists in 39 games this season and will be seen at the European Championships for Switzerland this summer. Last summer he extended his contract until 2019 so his price won't be any cheaper now. With the potential he has I do not see Basel  wanting to let him go for 20 million.
