Barcelona technical director says Sandro can leave

Fernandez confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United made offers for Sandro last summer but he agreed to stay at Barcelona after discussions with the club because with a transfer embargo they couldn't replace him. he revealed they will no be taking up the option of a contract extension and that Sandro can leave this summer.

Pedro left for Chelsea last summer and Munir has overtaken him in Luis Enrique's thinking. he then suffered a tear of his abductor muscle in March which has kept him out since.

"Sandro last summer already had some offers to leave the club. We then valued the situation but we couldn't sign any player (to replace him due to the transfer embargo). He made a great effort to stay and we appreciated that. We are very grateful to the player. There was a deadline date on 1 May to extend his contract for one more year but due to his excellent behaviour, after what he did last summer, we have decided to open him the door to leave the club."

Marc Bartra, Adriano or Thomas Vermaelen could also possibly leave this summer. He is a young player we have to be interested in. We will no doubt have been keeping an eye on him and it would seem if he is going to leave Barcelona that he won't have the buy-back clause they try to attach to any young player transfer.
