West Ham United vs Tottenham Hotspur

A midweek Premier League fixture that is just another game for us, no different than playing Fulham, QPR or Crystal Palace. For West Ham, it seems to be their Cup Final though so we will have to play a side who will look to raise their game.

At this time of year, every game is a banana skin as Leicester City have seen in their last two games. An 89th-minute winner against Norwich City was followed up by a 2-2 draw with WBA. That leaves then 3 points ahead of us having played 1 game more.

It is more and more important that we ignore everything that has happened, that we ignore all the possibilities and concentrate totally on the three points available game by game. If you start to focus on how many we have won on the trot or where we might be if we win then we are heaping pressure on ourselves. 

The players have to decrease any pressure, although as mentioned before, pressure is an option. Individuals choose how perceived pressure affects them, they have to develop and use emotional management skills. Again this is about training the mind to operate so that it relays the emotions you want it to relay.

The mental development of the players has been clear to see, emotional management is not so easy to assess although it directly affects performance. Thus far all the signs are positive, I say all, there have been one or two signs of concern, which as yet haven't developed into a problem. Everything is still positive within the camp, as are all the noises coming out of the camp.

The game will bear no relation to the 4-1 thrashing earlier in the season when Est Ham couldn't handle our physical strength and quickness said Slaven Bilic, their new manager this season. After two initial defeats, they are unbeaten at home so can not be taken lightly. This is no easy game.
