Norwich City vs Spurs

Our Tottenham Hotspur boys face Norwich City tonight in a banana skin game. No that's not a joke about their canary yellow but a reference to a game where three points away from home is a must. It is a game that has the potential for us to slip up. We have to turn in another of the performances we have been turning in of late.

NORWICH CITY

Norwich City may hand debuts to their new loan signing from Chelsea, 22-year-old Patrick Bamford, a highly thought of young striker and fellow new recent recruit Timm Klose, a 27-year-old Swiss international centre-back.

Alex Neil will have to assess them both and weigh up the potential disruption to the side that bringing them both straight in would have before making a decision. Do the positives outweigh the negatives and what is best for the club's long-term survival prospects in the Premier League?

The Canaries shipped five goals in their last outing against Liverpool so perhaps the Swiss international signed from Milos Veljkovic's new club Wolfsburg, is needed. They do seem to be weak in this area whenever I see them. Defender Andre Wisdom is available for them once again. The 22-year-old was ineligible against his parent club Liverpool. Midfielder Gary O'Neil is unavailable as the 28-year-old was sent off against Stoke City so is serving a three-match ban that ends after this game.

Norwich City Provisional Squad: Rudd, Ruddy, Olsson, Brady, Wisdom, Martin, Klose, Bennett, Bassong, Pinto, Tettey, Mulumbu, Dorrans, Howson, Odjidja-Ofoe, Hoolahan, Jarvis, Redmond, Naismith, Bamford, Jerome, Mbokani.

Norwich manager Alex Neil: "Our home form has been good and we want to make sure we get back to winning ways.
"I don't see why Tottenham can't be considered title contenders. They're one of the best sides we've played."

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

New England midfielder Dele Alli is expected to return to the starting line-up tonight. With Spurs only having two games before another week's rest ahead of the Manchester City game, a full strength side can be expected. The talented 19-year-old Alli was an unused substitute in Saturday's 4-1 FA Cup fourth-round win at Colchester United.
He has scored five goals and had four assists in his last 12 Premier League games.

Captain Hugo Lloris will return to the side as will rested Belgian centre-back Toby Alderweireld alongside his new partner, presumably Kevin Wimmer. Mauricio Pochettino has indicated he will, now get his chance in the Premier League to show what he can do after waiting patiently behind Jan Vertonghen. It is his job now to grab his chance and make it difficult to bring Vertonghen back in. That is the mentality all players must have if they are to stay in the side.

Jan Vertonghen is out for a prolonged period with knee ligament damage, Clinton Njie is not due to return until 5 March and midfielder Ryan Mason will be ready shortly.

Tottenham Hotspur Provisional Squad: Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Kieran Trippier, Ben Davies, Toby Alderweireld, Kevin Wimmer, Mousa Dembele, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Tom Carroll, Nabil Bentaleb, Christian Eriksen, Josh Onomah, Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela, Son Heung-min, Harry Kane.

Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino: "We know Norwich is a team that had 10 days to prepare for our game, but our mentality is good, we are strong and we need to compete.
"We analysed the last few games from Norwich and they are very difficult to play."
