Pressure games
After the FA Cup replay against Leicester City, we have some winnable games, although they may not be so easy.
First on January 23 is Crystal Palace away. They have lost their last three and drew the two before that, all without scoring a goal. In those 5 games, they have conceded eight. In 11 home games, they have won 4, drawn 2 and lost 5 while scoring 12 and conceding 12. Goals are hard to come by and they don't concede too many either. We have come to a cropper there before so will need to approach the game in the right manner.
Norwich City away follows that on February 2 in an evening kick-off. Their five-game form is won 2, lost 3, four goals for and nine against. At home they have won 3 and drawn 2 of the last 5 games, the two draws were against Arsenal and Everton. This is another game where we have to put in a professional performance, we can not afford to take these game lightly.
Following that, we have Watford at home. They have won 4, drawn 3 and lost 3 away from home scoring 14 and conceding 14. We struggled to beat them at their place and will have to break down a stubborn defence again, there seem to be a few teams in that vein now.
We are away again after that at Manchester City who have a terrific home record, the best in the Premier League by five points. Of their 12 games, they have won 9, drawn 1 and lost 2, scoring 33 and conceding on average only 1 goal per game.
Four games, all with their own difficulties. Winning the next three should look to be important, the motivation for each one crucial. Each game can not be seen as easy, or mundane. Each game is an opportunity to turn the screw on those below and put pressure on those above.
