FIFA want life bans for Blatter and Platini

The Investigatory Chamber of FIFA's Ethics Committee wants life bans for Sepp Blatter (79) and Michel Platini (60), the banned former leaders of FIFA and UEFA. Both have said they will appeal the bans.

Investigatory Chamber spokesman Andreas Bantel revealed an appeal will be lodged to have the eight-year bans increased to life bans for the payment to Platini which coincidentally meant Platini didn't stand against Blatter.

Teddy Sheringham managed Stevenage will be keeping 19-year-old Tottenham left-back Connor Ogilvie until the end of February. Ogilvie has put in 15 consistent performances for Stevenage and will extend the loan that started in August for another month.

Sunderland are contemplating the future of Tottenham loanee DeAndre Yedlin who hasn't started a Premier League game since early December. He joined Sunderland on loan for £1.05-million (US$1.52m - AUS$2.17m - €1.40m) in August. He has only played a total of 821 minutes, equivalent to just over 9 full games.

His return would cause a problem with Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier ahead of him which would show why loans are problematical. Of course, if Sunderland decide to keep him for the season and they need squad places available to bring in new personnel, then there wouldn't be a problem.
