Spurs continue to monitor Feghouli situation

Tottenham are continuing to monitor the situation of 25-year-old (26 on 26 December) Algerian winger Sofiane Feghouli.

He id plying his trade at Valencia in La Liga where Gary Neville has taken up the reigns until the end of the season. There are a host of clubs interested in him and watching the situation as he has refused a new contract and can leave for free in the summer. Manchester United, Barcelona and Inter Milan, who seem to be about to buy every player on the planet if you believe Italian reports, are just three of the many names mentioned.

His issue is over wages, currently, he is on less than £36,000-per-week so could increase that to £50-60,000-per-week in the Premier League. There is plenty of speculation that Manchester United will exploit their link to Gary Neville, however, that may actually work against them. 

How do you think it would go down with the Valencia fans if a former Manchester United player came in and sold a player they like to his former club? Not very well obviously and the management will be well aware of this. We have already made an offer to Feghouli's representatives and we are not the only ones. He has many options and isn't close to signing for us. He is one we'll try for in the summer unless we offload Townsend and can snap him up for say £5.1-million (€7m) or less in January.

He has pace, he attacks players, gets to the byline and pulls balls back for a striker or onrushing midfielder. He runs at defenders and commits them to making a decision, not just letting them shadow him. He hits the deck a lot, like all players a feather can knock him over around the box. His puts in his defensive shift so has the work ethic that Pochettino demands.

Currently, he is out with a leg injury, he has missed the last three games so we don't yet know how Gary Neville will take to him. He was in and out the side under the old boss but is in big demand elsewhere.
