Soldado's European stats are surprising

Wandering through the world of Spurs European statistics I saw that My Football facts and Top Spurs have different records for Tottenham at home in European competition, they can't both be right, sort it out guys.

The statistic that caught my eye though was one from Europe. I was wandering through our European goalscorers looking for any little battles there may be and a noticed Roberto Soldado, 6 goals in 11 appearances, that's not a bad strike rate yet he cpuldn't hit a barn door at times. Surprised me. Darren Bent took 13 games, Russian Roman Pavlyuchenko 14, John White 17 and Tony Galvin 25.

Club ambassador Graham Roberts sits joint 23rd in the table on 5 goals with legend Dave Mackay, Chris McGrath and a player we would all like to forget Emmanuel Adebayor.

It surprised me that Garth Crooks (9 in 16 appearances) scored more European goals than Steve Archibald (7 in 22 appearances), what a great pair to watch they were in a great side. I wondered who were ou most prolific ona goals per game basis, here is the Top 12.

Spurs Prolific European Goalscorers (goals per game ratio)

  1. Terry Dyson 0.88 (8 goals, 9 games)
  2. Dimitar Berbatov 0.75 (12 goals, 16 games)

  4. Peter Crouch 0.70 (7 goals, 10 games)
  5. Martin Chivers 0.69 (22 goals, 32 games)
  6. Jermain Defoe 0.66 (23 goals, 35 games)
  7. Jimmy Greaves 0.64 (9 goals, 14 games)
  8. Chris McGrath 0.62 (5 goals, 8 games)
  9. Emmanuel Adebayor 0.60 (5 goals, 9 games)

  11. Roberto Soldado 0.53 (6 goals, 11 games)
