Kane chasing a 45 year old record
Harry Kane banged in the goals last season and after a slow start has started banging them in again. He has shown he is no one-season wonder, but then we all knew he wasn't and is the subject of transfer speculation, mainly from Manchester United, that has zero chance of success.
They and Chelsea know full well that he is not for sale at any price and have therefore begun a media campaign to try and turn his head. I understand they haven't contacted Tottenham or his agents but are feeding the press stories in an attempt to try and build pressure. it is the same tactic Real Madrid use when they want to poach one of our players.
Only 10 players have scored 20 or more league goals for us since the 1970/71 season when Martin 'Big Chiv' Chivers, now 70, bagged 21 that season.

Gary Lineker, Martin Chivers, and Steve Archibald all achieved 20 goals in a domestic league season twice. We could do with Harry Kane matching those feats this season with Martin Chivers the only player to have achieved the feat for us in two consecutive seasons in the last 45 years.
At the beginning of his career, he certainly has time on his side to jump to the top of the list by achieving the feat, at least, three times.
