Veljkovic leaving is not a loss

Mauricio Pochettino is not a fan of Miloš Veljković, while many rate him, he doesn't. Pochettino likes a certain style of player, all action would sum them up. For Pochettino a player has to have energy and Pochettino feels Veljković lacks that energy.

As a result he has seen no game time and his career is going nowhere. Veljković nearly went to Spain for a season and that didn't work, he has been out on loan o the Championship and struggled to get in the side. I see the press are misinterpreting this as a blow or a shock. It is hardly that when the head coach has decided he isn't the type of player who will fit the new Tottenham system.

The 20-year-old (21 in September) is said to going to refuse any new contract offer, which presumably would only be for another season anyway. The fact that he hasn't figured in a single first team match day squad, not even the League Cup despite all the injuries we have had, tells you all you need to know about his lack of Spurs future. His loss, therefore, is hardly a blow but is merely something that has been expected since last summer.

He will no doubt carve out a career and maybe a successful career at a club that suits his style of pay better. If and when he leaves I wish him well.
