No Vida to spurs reports in Ukraine

Tottenham are said to be considering a £7m (US$10.66m - AUS$14.96m - €9.9m) move for Dynamo Kiev defender Domagoj Vida. The story comes from the Daily Star who don't reveal any source and there doesn't appear to be anything suggesting  we are interested in Ukraine.

The Croatian is a 26-year-old (27 next April) versatile centre-back, versatile because he can play right or left-back. Mauricio Pochettino likes players who can cover more than one position, we see it all though the Spurs squad now.

I see some, probably who have never seen him are calling him another hidden gem. Tottenham, the Daily Star tell us, sent a scout to watch the recent Chelsea verses Dynamo Kiev UEFA Champions League game. The paper will not know who we were watching though, that information isn't revealed and we certainly wouldn't have given them a £7-million figure so there is plenty of guesswork in this article, at least that's my guess!

Yes we have watched Croatia play, but we scout a lot in Croatia because of the cost of the players and their success in the Premier League. Italian side Inter Milan are watching him and Vida has recently commented on speculation linking him with them.

"Of course I would like to put on Inter's jersey, I would very much like that."

Reading reports the Italian press claim Dynamo Kiev don't want to lose him and wouldn't let him go for less than £5.86-million (US$8.62m - AUS$12.09 - €8m). Given the age of players we are interested in, the discrepancy in transfer fees and that he has no experience of the Premier League I don't think this story has too many legs.
