Liverpool to beat Spurs to Brazilian striker Pato

Tottenham have been scouting 25-year-old Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato who has found his form back in Brazil and whose club Corinthians are desperate to sell him. News is now emerging that Liverpool have agreed a deal in principle for him according to journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

The Corinthians chairman has said Pato will soon be playing in Europe but did not name a club. Liverpool are believed to be that club and to have agreed a £14.28-million (20m) deal for him, beating Tottenham and Everton to his signature.
