Spurs scout out of favour Hazard and 4th choice Zaza
Tottenham sent a scout to Juventus last night to watch the UEFA Champions League encounter between the Italians and Borussia Monchengladbach of Germany.
Our interest in 22-year-old (23 next March) Thorgan Hazard is well documented and he came on after 74 minutes in the 0-0 draw in which he completed 7 of his 11 passes. In he last 4 Bundesliga games he has been on the bench twice, seen 1 minute of action in another and 9 minutes in another. He started the first 5 league games but seems to have fallen out of favour and sat on the bench against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League recently as well.
Having signed for Juventus this summer, Simone Zaza is a striker we continue to keep an eye on. He isn't likely to leave Juventus any time soon unless it is on loan and we are only interested in loan deals with a permanent buy option attached. He was a 70th-minute substitution completing 6 of his 9 passes.
Italian news outlet Il Corriere dello Sport report us as hot on the trail of Zaza. However, the Italian press is rather like the British press when it comes to transfers, they are happy to create news where they may be none.
The 24-year-old (25 next June) is only 4th choice at Juventus so who knows he may want a change next summer, but his remarks this summer before his signing was confirmed showed Juventus were the club he wanted to play for, hardly surprising being Italian. So far he has had 295 minutes playing time. In Serie A, he has seen 7 minutes, 77 minutes, 90 minutes, 15 minutes and 78 minutes in the last 5 games, while in the UEFA Champions League he has seen 10 minutes before last night.
