Feghouli likely to turn down more money to sign for Spurs

Tottenham have been scouting and have made an offer for 25-year-old Algerian winger Sofiane Feghouli who at the moment is holding out on signing a new contract at Valencia over wages.

Several clubs around Europe are taking note and we have submitted an offer to him to bring him to the Premier League. He is just one option and as I wrote at the weekend it will be his choice what he does, where he plays. It will not be someone's fault for not offering enough, fans do so like to apportion blame.

Newcastle United are chasing him as are clubs from all the major leagues. Valencia want to keep him and are simply trying to reduce his wages request, which is modest by premier League standards, under £36,000 per week.

Despite being able to offer him greater wages he looks likely to stay at Valencia however, he told Spanish radio station Radio Esport over the weekend that he expects to reach an agreement with the Spanish club.

“I'll reach an agreement on a new contract with Valencia soon, I’m sure.”
