Bale treated better than Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo has sold his image rights to Valencia owner Peter Lim, who is a personal friend of super agent Jorge Mendes.
Mendez is helping Lim build a team and now has his own man at Valencia as Sporting Director, the ex-Pacos de Ferreira scout Carlos Carneiro. He replaces Rufete as Technical Secretary/Sporting Director.
The agent of former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Santos Marquez, thinks 30-year-old Ronaldo is planning to leave the Spanish giants. He made his views known in a press conference where he revealed Casillas didn't want to leave Real and that the club president 68-year-old Florentino Perez 'doesn’t like black players'.
Marquez claims that Perez treats Gareth Bale better than Ronaldo which suggests that Gareth Bale is commercially a hotter property than Cristiano Ronaldo. Real Madrid expect the commercial income to easily pay for Gareth Bale and his contract, Ronaldo selling his image rights outside of Real suggest to Marquez that his days there are numbered.
He has a point, why would you give £28 million (US$43.5m - AUS$59m - €40m) image rights away to another club owner? His contract runs out in 2018 when he can leave for free or cheaply with a year to go, by which time Valencia, or their owner will have pocketed £56 million (US$87m - AUS$118m - €80m), enough for a transfer fee perhaps.
