Despondent Tottenham football fans can look forward to getting their football fix in July with news that a Tottenham Hotspur XI will visit Peterborough United in a pre-season friendly.
The date: Saturday July 18th
The time: 3 pm
The place: ABAX Stadium
Advance price: £10 adults, £5 under 18's
On the day price: £15 adults, £10 (senior citizen, 18-21-year-olds), £5 Under 18's
Tottenham face an MLS team at the wonderfully named Dicks Sporting Goods Park on Thursday August 30th before presumably the development squad take Stevenage, now managed by Teddy Sheringham at the Lamex Stadium on Saturday, August 1 at 3 pm.
We then move onto the Audi Cup where we can rub shoulders with some elite clubs. A game against Real Madrid on Tuesday August 4th is followed by a game against the losers of the Bayern Munich vs AC Milan game.
Then Saturday August 8th we have the Premier League season kicking off away to Manchester United.
It's an awkward year with the season starting early and international tournaments going on right now. Players will need some rest time before they embark upon pre-season training which leaves little time for pre-season friendlies this year.
Hardly surprising everyone is trying to get early deals done.
