Final Premier League shot time league table

Tonight is the culmination of the Premier League Shooting Time Series in which we have seen why Danny Rose is picked above Ben Davies, why Ryan Mason is picked ahead of Mousa Dembélé and why Érik Lamela doesn't score many goals.

Tonight it's the turn of the strikers, Emmanuel Adebayor, Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado, plus the final league table. With only one short substitute appearance DeAndre Yedlin is not included, he hasn't played enough time to be given a fair time.

Statistics can't tell us everything and they are only an aid but they can confirm or deny beliefs, support a hypothesis, or raise interesting questions.

Shooting Time Tables

Premier League Only
Players To Date
Player - Mins Per Shot
Harry Kane 23.12
Roberto Soldado 39.67
Emmanuel Adebayor 43.05

Only three and they are in the order you would expect them to be, they are in the order in which they are chosen. Now consider the wages they earn and the table is upside down!

Adebayor is the most accurate of the three but he just doesn't shoot, one shot per half for your main striker over a season is poor, especially when his game time was with mainly whole games. Soldado, who played just 15 more minutes than Adebayor in the Premier League, had most of his game time come from late substitutions.

The youngster wants it, the guy earning doesn't is the clear message and I think we can all see that in their attitude and their play. It boils down to that winning mentality again, not about winning football games but about being the best you can be and winning as a by-product.

Our left-back shoots more often than Mousa Dembélé and scores more goals, harry Kane shoots more often than anybody and scores more goals, it's rocket science this!

Now how much is Adebayor being paid per shot? That I'd like to see, we get one shot per half.
19 shots at £100,00-a-week or is he on £120,000?
