Best young Belgium talent to watch (some we are)

Belgium are currently ranked as the second best international side in the world in the official FIFA rankings thanks to some forward planning.

Belgium set about changing youth football and every club side played a 4-3-3 system because it was felt that system would enable the development of all round players best. The result is the crop of players they have now and will have in the future, it's a hotbed of talent and one Tottenham are scouting regularly.

Sky Italian correspondent Gianluca Di Marzio has picked his Top 11 team drawn from the Belgian Pro League and from his selections I have put together a squad of players we are no doubt keeping a watchful eye on. Certainly there are some in here we have definitely scouted, I've written recent articles on three of them.
The squad and then team is based on a 4-2-3-1 system, the same as we use so you can see where they would fit in at Tottenham, we'll start of course with the goalkeeper and a player both Liverpool and ourselves are strongly linked with.

In goal he chose 23-year-old Mathew Ryan of Club Brugge. Has extraordinary reflexes and is excellent with his feet - a complete goalkeeper, ultramodern, has international experience with Australia.
He just beats 21-year-old Anderlecht goalkeeper Davy Roeff to the number one shirt.
From right to left, a defence with technique but at the same time with the physicality the modern game requires. At right-back the player who stands out is 21-year-old Ghanaian Frank Acheampong for his elusive running and dribbling skills.

In the middle, all the physicality of Mbemba (Anderlecht), We have scouted him as a previous article covered.

A place alongside him went to the technical skills of Brandon Mechele, a 22-year-old Belgian and teammate of goalkeeper Mathew Ryan at Club Brugge.

Back up centre-back would go to Christian Kabasele, a 24-year-old Belgian at Genk, grandson of Dieumerci Mbokani and brother of Anderlecht striker Nathan Kabasele.

On the left side, both Timothy Chestnut, a 20-year-old at Genk and Thomas Foket, the 21-year-old Belgian at Gent have shown great growth and maturity tactically.

In midfield the names are overflowing, but all I can opt for are the duo from Anderlecht, 18-year-old Belgian Youri Tielemans and 20-year-old Belgian Leander Dendoncker. Both play with the confidence of a veteran. Dendonker has  strong defensive skills and has already made his international debut. He can play in a three-man defense - as expressed by the choice of the breeder Wilmots in the last friendly against France.

Others who didn't quite make the eleven include the versatile 21-year-old Belgian at Mechelen Ibrahima Cissé and the talented 20-year-old Belgian Julien de Sart at Standard Liege.

Thw trio of attacking midfielders selected are 20-year-old Belgian Under-21 international Benito Raman at Gent, 19-year-old Nigerian international Moses Simon also at Gent, who for the first time in their history won the Belgian Pro League this season. Benito Raman is a second striker, he is fast and is sought by Inter Milan after 9 goals and 4 assists in 36 games in all competitions.

Moses Simon has however already acquired the nickname of the 'Nigerian Ronaldo', although his physical and technical characteristics are very different. Liverpool are scouting him but don't want to pay the £10.85 million (US$16.89m - AUS$21.84m - €15m) price tag placed on him.

Central of the trio would be 21-year-old Nekgian Dennis Praet. Talented but hasn't really developed until this season when netting 9 goals and 11 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions, including 867 minutes in the UEFA Champions League (1 goal away against Galatasaray, 2 assists against Arsenal and Galatasaray in the home tie).

As the striker, 20-year-old Serbian international Aleksandar Mitrović. The'Serbian Balotelli' is a particular favourite of Louis van Gaal, Manchester United will have to stump up £15 million (US$23.34m - AUS$30.19m - €20.73m) to get him from Anderlecht though.

Mitrović scored 27 goals with 5 assists in 50 games in all competitions this season, a goal every 155 minutes, not surprising he already has 13 international caps and like Harry Kane not yet the finished article.

Substitute for the striker role goes to 19-year-old Belgian Obbi Oulare, the strong Club Brugge striker we have been scouting and who I for one hope we buy. He is a beast and in another season he price will start to climb.

Another striker of note include 20-year-old Belgian Cyriel Dessers of Lokeren. This young Belgian-born Nigerian was called up to the Under-21 squad by the "Red Devils" and is one to monitor with interest.
