20yo Aleksandar Mitrović 27 goals this season

Harry Kane has had a superb season by any standards but he does need help. Emmanuel Adebayor is not wanted and Roberto Soldado does not produce the goods.

One young striker and one experienced striker seems the sensible way to go, it fits in with our develop youth policy but provides the cover for injuries and loss of form. Harry Kane will have a barren patch and how he handles that mentally will be important, Soldado doesn't seem to have handed it too well though.

Spurs are in negotiations for 19-year-old Monaco forward Anthony Martial and 30-year-old Fernando Llorente from Juventus. Timo Werner is another we have made an offer for and we have scouted 19-year-old Obbi Oulare several times now.

Another popular young striker at the moment is 20-year-old Serbian international Aleksandar Mitrović, the 'Serbian Balotelli'. There are several clubs interested in him, Newcastle United are aid to have agreed a £15 million (US$23.34m - AUS$30.19m - €20.73m) fee with Anderlecht, Southampton, Swansea City, Arsenal, Liverpool Chelsea, and Manchester United are all keen on him, Manchester United particularly so, plus of course clubs around Europe.

He could be an option for Tottenham having scored 27 goals with 5 assists in 50 games in all competitions this season, a goal every 155 minutes, not surprising he already has 13 international caps and like Harry Kane not yet the finished article.

In 2013/14 he scored 16 Belgian Pro League goals in 32 appearances, in all for Anderlecht he has scored 44 goals in 90 games. Mitrović stands 1.89m (6ft 2 1⁄2in) tall and reports suggest he would prefer a move to a UEFA Champions League team so has not agreed a deal with Newcastle United at this stage.

In the Champions League he scored against Arsenal and had an assist. He also scored against Borussia Dortmund and in the UEFA Europa League scored against Dinamo Moscow, to add to all his league goals.
