Spurs to play end of season game in Australia

There is a bidding war going on right now between clubs from Europe including Bayern Munich and Chelsea but it is said to be Tottenham who have the upper hand.

Spurs to play end of season game in Australia

Clubs in Australia have been informed that Tottenham are the side likely to be coming to Australia at the end of the Premier League season with a full strength squad to play an exhibition game in Sydney, according to one of Australia's largest media companies, Fairfax Media.

Once again it's the chance to promote the club abroad and give fans who see few Premier League teams the chance to see a top side first hand. Naturally it's also a commercially profitable trip with the players due to fly out on May 24th, if everything is confirmed as expected.

Negotiations are said to be at an advanced stage and a successful conclusion would see Tottenham visit Australia for the first time in 30 years, yet the club is very popular down under, indeed they are consistently one of the top five readers of this website, 4th last month behind UK, USA and Ireland, Norway were 5th.

That trip 30 years ago saw Spurs play in the world series tournament together with Australia, Vasco Da Gama (Brazil) and Udinese (Italy).
