With an eye on the future Tottenham are working on deals for the summer with Danny Ings, Fabian Delph and André Ayew known to be interested in coming to Tottenham.
All three would be available on free transfers in just 6 months, what would that be £40 million worth of talent for nothing. With their contracts coming to an end at the end of the season they can sign pre-contract agreements and Tottenham do not need permission to speak to the players or their agents.
Danny Ings
There are plenty of reports talking about 22-year-old Danny Ings for £8 million but when a player is free in just three and a half months playing time there is no point paying £8 million for him. Ings is allowed to talk to other clubs to arrange a July move and reports have suggested he is open to the idea of joining Spurs.

The striker has also revealed he is not going to leave Burnley in January, he wants to try and secure Premier League football at Turf Moor next season. That would be the best leaving present he could give.
Fabian Delph
Fabian Delph is the subject of a £3 million bid, it's a take it or get nothing in the summer offer. There is no guarantee that Delph will choose Tottenham, some reports suggest he wants Champions League football but that is unconfirmed, then again Spurs may still qualify.

With Morgan Schneiderlin not believed to be value at the figures Southampton are quoting, Pochettino has had to look elsewhere and the 25-year-old England international is the choice. While he would need to adapt to the Pochettino system he is experienced at premier League level so won't have that adjustment problem that gets used as a crutch for flops. Both he and Danny Ings would also help the home grown quota and compensate for Aaron Lennon and Kyle Naughton leaving.
André Ayew
A third player Tottenham are deep in discussion with is 25-year-old Ghana winger André Ayew who is currently at Marseilles where they play the high-press, high-tempo football that Pochettino plays. There is the option of securing him for a small fee if Marseilles want something for him but if not Tottenham will try to secure him to a pre-contract agreement to sign in the summer.

He would command wages around £75,000 a week and has scored 3 goals with 3 assists from his 15 Ligue 1 games this season under Marcelo Bielsa, the coach Pochettino's system is based upon. Everton are interested in him but Tottenham are said to be in advanced talks ahead of the African Cup of Nations.
No. 4?
Also a free agent in the summer after refusing to agree to the wage cap that Marseille have put on wages is 29-year-old striker
Andre Pierre Gignac. Tottenham are known to have watched the French international, who has scored 12 goals in 19 Lique 1 games and 14 in 20 games in total. Ings however has youth on his side so looks the first choice, however if Tottenham can offload both Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado then a fourth free transfer becomes a possibility.
