Tottenham will be on high alert warns Nigel Clough ahead of the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final that Spurs lead 1-0 after the first leg at White Hart Lane last week. The League One side made it very tough for Spurs in the first leg with everyone behind the ball and Spurs struggled to create anything. There can be no complacency in the second leg, if we get more space then we must make absolutely sure we take advantage and are clinical.

It's for games like these that I have been saying when we are 2-0, 3-0 up we have to be clinical at the end of games when we create chances not as we are, not bothered whether we score or miss guilt edge chances. It's a mentality that has to change, we have to adopt that winning mentality, so crucial to success, fortunately Mauricio Pochettino is of the same view.

It was arguably one of the worst refereeing decision of all time, ranking up there with the famous Old Trafford goal that never was. We do get some real shockers against us, every club player knows you can't be offside in your own half and Chris Foy was right up with play at the time so had no excuses. He will no doubt return to the Premier League in due course, it was a genuine mistake, a big one but a mistake in the heat of the moment, as I'm sure he knows the rules, his assistant didn't seem to though.

The Premier League had little choice but to take action because players are penalised for things they do in the heat of the moment so it is only right that referees are looked at in the same way. You have to laugh when you see Tweets saying it's a bit rough on the Championship giving them Chris Foy.

Tottenham have secured an extra 1,500 tickets for Wednesdays tie at Bramall Lane taking Spurs allocation to just over 5,500. For the FA Cup tie at Burnley where there were only 10,000 fans, 3,000 of those were Spurs fans which just goes to show what great support we have on the road to cheer our boys on. It's that sort of support that stunned German legend Jurgen Klinsmann, who had never seen anything like it.

Roberto Soldado needs to start performing for Spurs, says Tim Sherwood

Spurs fans have been right behind Roberto Soldado through his tough times,we can all see he has quality, yet the goals have just not gone in and his misses get tremendous publicity which just makes matters worse for him. If you ran a poll over who should go first Roberto Soldado or Emmanuel Adebayor, I guarantee it would be Adebayor voted out the door.

There is a video of the game on the official Tottenham Hotspur website and Ugo's complete comments.

“We played in difficult conditions and in the first half we created four or five really good opportunities where we were let down with the final pass or the execution, but the intent was there to play the right way."
