Liverpool, Dortmund hold no appeal for Eriksen

Mauricio Pochettino has told the BBC, which has been revealed by Danish news outlet BT, that Christian Eriksen won't be going anywhere.

Liverpool, Dortmund hold no appeal for Eriksen

Eriksen arrived along with the 'Summer Seven' and took his time to settle. |He produced flashes for the most part but it wasn't until a couple of months after Tim Sherwood took over that he sprung into life and ended up being named Player of the Year.

This season he was again underwhelming to start with and was publicly criticised by his Danish coach, saying that he hadn't improved since he has been at Spurs and he should be producing more. The criticism was justified, he wasn't creating much for Spurs but when the right set of players were found and there were midfield runners, his game came to life.

Any playmaker needs movement to provide him with passing options otherwise they are all standing still waiting for him to do something which they then try to react to. That creates little. With Spurs progressing Eriksen is progressing.

"We have seen in the past where players who do well in Tottenham, ends. Eriksen is of the caliber that he soon will be interesting for even the largest, and he has a huge potential. The good thing is that I can see him develop much more.
"Of course we don’t want to let a player like Eriksen go. Our job is to keep him here for as long as possible, develop him into one of the world’s best in his position and then see what happens.
“There will always be interest in a player of Eriksen’s ability, but he is staying here.”

Liverpool are reported to be preparing a £32 million bid but other than wages they have nothing to offer that he hasn't already got at Tottenham.

Borussia Dortmund can offer UEFA Champions League but are sitting 17th in the Bundesliga so unless they win it won't be able to offer it next season. You would have thought that would again rule them out.

PSG are also said to be interested but the French league is a step down from the Premier League, it doesn't have the global audience so all you get is a wage and a few Champions League ties. PSG are not Real Madrid or Barcelona so don't have the pull of playing for two of the worlds top clubs.
