Eriksen's stock rising

He did it again at the weekend, Christian Eriksen secured victory for Tottenham Hotspur in the dying minutes, the 88th to be precise to join his other late late shows at Hull City and Swansea City.

Eriksen's stock rising

Eriksen has a few Danish players to emulate, three notable countrymen to have played in the Premier League include Jan Molby (Liverpool) 1984-1996, Thomas Graveson (Everton|) 2000-2004, 2007-2008, Peter Schmeichel (Manchester United, Aston Villa, Manchester City) 1991-2003.

PSG attempted to sign the 22-year-old in the last days of the summer transfer window of 2013 but Eriksen had already virtually completed a deal for Tottenham, which took just 4 days. He said he was impressed with the speed of the move and it showed him how much Spurs wanted to sign him. He therefore turned down Paris for London.

Now with his recent exploits the talk naturally surfaces that PSG, still under the stewardship of Laurent Blanc, want to try and sign him in the summer again. H is price will have more than doubled, possibly even trebled and Tottenham certainly won't want to entertain any bids. Basically all PSG can offer are a large wage and a few games of UEFA Champions League football.

To move to PSG would mean moving to a county where football is second to rugby, where he'd play in small stadiums without the worldwide coverage and at a lower standard than the Premier League. It all sounds rather unfulfilling.

The is talk that Blanc may not even keep his job this summer so for me the talk of PSG interest raises no alarm bells, it's a story to just dismiss.
