Adebayor's no to Parma offers Spurs hope

Tottenham are looking at ways of offloading Emmanuel Adebayor sooner rather than later and one option, although a long shot was the interest from Italian side Parma.

Adebayor's no to Parma offers Spurs hope

There is an encouraging side to this story, his representatives met with the Serie A sides officials, Pietro Leonardi and Antonello Prieti, Parma Live inform us. The encouragement is that they actually talked to them with reports earlier that Adebayor had refused to leave Tottenham after Levy told him the club had enough of his unsettling influence.

The talks were never likely to succeed as there is no way Parma could match his wage demands of course and we all know what motivates Emmanuel Adebayor. Apparently the two sides are miles apart so we can conclude that that unlikely avenue is dead in the water.

Previously it was Torino who said if he lowers his wage demands they would be interested in signing him, I think we can deduct from the Parma talks that there is no chance of that happening, mind you we could have told them that without wasting time on talks.

The fact that his representatives did talk suggests that they are looking at ways to move their client on, which is at least a positive for us Spurs fans to cling to.
