Dembele's depressing decision

I can reveal that Tottenham's plight doesn't look like ending anytime soon, Mousa Dembele has confirmed it to Sky.

Dembele's depressing decision

The very thing I have explained won't work, a group of people with a losers mentality getting together to try and solve a problem they don't even know exists.

Mousa Dembele has declared that the players need to get together and talk about why they are not playing well. Quite frankly that is a complete waste of time. The problem they have is their mentality, yet they don't know or see that as their problem, so how exactly are they going to solve it?

We have had three players come out now with rubbish. Nacer Chadli must have failing eyesight if he genuinely believes we are more compact now, Adebayor invites victorious opposition for a laugh and a joke before telling us it's not the players fault it's the fans. A classic losers mentality, find someone else to blame.

Now we have Dembele who gently rolls the ball to team-mates and hasn't speeded up his passing as he needs to do telling us the players need a chat. A chat won't solve their mental issues, a chat won't suddenly make them believe in something they clearly don't believe in, a chat won't suddenly change a money mercenary into a dedicated Tottenham player.

This article explains why Adebayor inviting Newcastle players for a post game chat is totally out of order, especially for a vice-captain who should be setting an example.

A chat is window dressing. It's the solution for people who don't know what they are doing. Unless someone stands up and tells the vice-captain his mentality is wrong, tells Dembele his mentality is wrong, tells everyone who needs to hear, then what good can it do? Hugo Lloris or Harry Kane are possibly the only two in the squad who can give that speech and with all due respect to Harry Kane, the experienced players are not going to listen to him, they'll simply believe they don't have that problem, it's someone else.

They won't solve the major problem, they'll simply solve minor issues that won't affect performance because the mind, the heart still won't be in it. It's pretty clear the players don't believe in what Pochettino is doing because on the pitch they were shambolic at Villa and at home we have been beaten 4 times without really troubling the opposition much. Which keeper in those 4 games has played a blinder to keep us out?

Tim Sherwood gave this lot a few home truths, they rejected those truths, now the club needs to reject them. Keeping losers for the sake of it will only drag the club down, there needs to be a clear out I'm afraid, unless a Sports Psychologist is brought in to sort them out, a much cheaper, easier, less risk and more sensible option.
