Dembele to West Ham - yeah right

After Karen Brady said she would shove two fingers up to the taxpayer if Tottenham asked the Olympic Stadium owners, London Development Corporation to share the public paid for venue that West Ham tried to loans from the taxpayer to use, they comically want Mousa Dembele.

Dembele to West Ham - yeah right

Talk of ideas above your station, why would any player at a club with the potential to challenge for a top four spot join perennial relegation strugglers who undoubtedly wouldn't meet his current wages.

Apart from that they wouldn't pay the required fee to secure him, which would be more than the £15 million we paid Fulham. A loan deal would be out of the question as there is no benefit to Tottenham in it, it simply runs down his contract and lowers his value.

He has had an ankle problem this season and has perennial thigh problems. He has been labelled a hypochondriac in the past, not wanting to play with the slightest feeling. Whether their is any truth in that or not only the medical staff would know but in situations like that you could hardly then complain if you don't have a regular starting berth.

This season he has returned from injury to a place on the bench and has shown his inconsistency with a decent display against Sunderland only to fall back into old bad habits against WBA, when undoubtedly Tottenham once again took opposition lightly. His comments after the game revealed that.

He, like Ben Davies, is hoping to force his way into the team on a more permanent basis.

“Sometimes we still need to find our way but there are games when we have played very well such as Sunderland away and at Arsenal, as well as a few games more but we can still do better than this.
“It’s always something new when a new manager is in but we are in a good way and we are confident. The manager has spoken with everyone individually since he came here about aspects of our game.
“You want to play every game, so it’s a normal thing. This year I hoped I was going to play but then I have struggled with my ankle. If you don’t play, it’s not fun, of course.
“How can we do this season? We want to finish as high as possible, so that is the top four, of course.”

The beauty of the Tottenham squad at the moment is that you have to perform if you get into it, especially in midfield. The front four are settled and Etienne Capoue looks set which just leaves one place everyone is fighting for.

He'll have to battle for his place but even if he doesn't secure it West Ham won't be an option.
