Nacer Chadli Performance Report

Nacer Chadli had an excellent start to the game getting on the score sheet after just a minute, it would have been quicker if Danny Rose had picked the right ball across the 6 yard box for a tap in for him after 30 seconds. Adebayor was given all the time in the world to turn his body towards goal and shoot, Chadli was following up while everyone was watching but he still had to put the ball away well.

It is not hard to see why Pochettino likes Chadli and why the reports of him being offered to other clubs was a complete load of nonsense. The word coming out during the transfer window was that Pochettino liked him and felt he could work with him. Three goals in three games suggests he was right. Chadli looks a goal threat where Townsend and Lennon don't. He interchanges brilliantly with the other attackers and pops up all over the place in scoring positions.

He could have had a tap in from the right, he scored form the left, he has scored from the centre and the right. He is finding more goalscoring positions than any other player at the moment and that is due to his vision, awareness and then running off the ball.

In the opening spell he was also getting behind the defence and pulling the ball back. Had he been as aware at the second half as he had been at the start of the first he could have had another from an excellent Adebayor through ball but he reacted to slowly and the chance was gone.

A minute later a simple but good ball from Adebayor put him away on the left and it was from his cross along the floor that confusion reigned in the defence and the attempted clearance hit Wes Brown, leaving Eriksen to bundle the ball home.

Like Eriksen this was probably his best performance in a Spurs shirt, he was constantly a threat and well as being a goal threat. We spend most of the time attacking down the left and he was the reason why.

I tough call but I'd give him the Man of the Match award over Eriksen by a whisker.
