Is Pochettino the ITK youngster Spurs have been chasing?

There were ITK (In The Know) rumours during the summer transfer window just passed that Tottenham were interested in and trying to buy an unnamed 18-year-old Argentinian.

Is Pochettino the ITK youngster Spurs have been chasing?

Sports Witness now reveal that that youngster may be Tomas Pochettino, although their opinion that it may motivate Mauricio Pochettino to buy him simply because he has the same surname is somewhat comical. Any manager who makes signings on a players name and not his ability isn't going to last long in management.

They report that Juventus want to buy Pochettino in January and loan him out to Sussuolo who would take part ownership rights. Sports Witness tell us it's more prevalent in Serie A, that may be because it's illegal in the Premier League. Only one club can own a player, no third party ownership is permitted. You can loan a player of course, but you can't give any ownership rights, indeed a club pays the owning club a loan fee, not always, to take the player for a given period.

Apparently Juventus have extensively watched the Boca Juniors midfielder and CEO of Juventus Giueseppe Marotta began negotiations back in August, those negotiations are still ongoing.

Gianluca Di Marzio is an Italian transfer specialist for Sky Sports Italy and he reports that Hellas Verona made a move for the midfielder described as physically empowering. He reports that Pochettino will obtain European citizenship at the end of this week. That would negate work permit problems if this is the mystery Argentinian youngster we have been pursuing.

The fact that he doesn't play for the South American's senior side yet and that Barcelona have a good working relationship with Boca Juniors to pick up young talent doesn't suggest he is anything out of the ordinary. However an Argentinian website writing about the potential move refers to him as a 'gem' so perhaps he is one we have unearthed for the future. He scored 9 goals, can play central midfield or as a winger and has only played a handful of reserve team games thus far.

Juventus look form favourites to sign him though.
